We’re ideally located for days trips in Vermont and New Hampshire, or enjoy a touch of European charm in nearby Quebec. Here are some of the highlights within a 90 minute drive of St. Johnsbury.

Attractions

The Alchemist. Find out why folks around the planet rave about this hoppy brew. Visit their home on Waterbury, Vermont, also home to Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream.

Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream. Tour the Waterbury factory and enjoy samples of Vermont’s sweetest treat.

Billings Farm and Museum. Enjoy this working farm and museum dedicated to scientific-farming history, with interactive exhibits and demos. A National Historic Park. Take in Woodstock, Vermont, as a bonus!

Jay Peak Resort. The best snow in the east! Enjoy golfing or an aerial tramway ride in the warmer months.

Loon Mountain and Waterville Valley. Yes indeed, we’re close to a lot to skiing and riding! Here are two more options in New Hampshire, easy to reach via I-93.

Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Farms. Vermont’s Victorian and farming legacy are in full splendor at these two great attractions in Burlington, 90 minutes to our west.

Stowe Mountain Resort. This classic New England ski resort just gets better with age.

Vermont Institute of Natural Science. An environmental education organization and museum based in Quechee, Vermont, best-known for their raptor program.

Destinations

Burlington, Vermont. 90 miles to our west you’ll find Vermont’s largest city. Home to Lake Champlain, universities, museums, and the Church Street Marketplace.

Hanover, New Hampshire. An easy drive to the home of Dartmouth College, the Hood Museum of Art and numerous higher-end shopping and dining options.

Lake Memphremagog. This 30-mile long lake straddles the international border. The town of Newport anchors the southern shore, where you find waterfront dining, shopping and a fabulous recreation trail. Magog, Quebec, a French enclave, sits on the northern end. If you cross into Canada, be sure to visit Abbaye De St-Benoit-Du-Lac.

Lake Winnipesaukee. New Hampshire’s largest lake features concert venues, outlet shopping, water sports, motor sports, terrific scenery and more.

North Conway and Mt Washington Valley, New Hampshire. Outlet shopping, hiking, biking, climbing and more. A beautiful 80 minute drive.

Quebec’s Eastern Townships. We’re less than an hour from the international border. Enjoy small towns and European charm, wineries, biking tours and wonderful French-influenced cuisine.

Stowe, Vermont. This charming and classic New England village buzzes with activity year-round. In fact, there’s more to do in summer and fall than in the winter season. Enjoy shopping, cultural events, dining, the Stowe Recreation Path and Smugglers Notch State Park.

Warren, Vermont. Home to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen resorts.
