Susan and Martin will be happy to help you plan your itinerary. Here are some of the highlights within 45 minutes of Cherry House.

Vermont Attractions

Bread and Puppet Theater and Museum. Giant puppets and political commentary come together at the home of this world-famous art installation. Enjoy weekend performances in the summer months. Almost beyond description!

Burke Mountain Resort. 2,000 vertical feet of skiing and riding. Home of the world-famous Burke Mountain Academy—Mikaela Shiffren’s high school. Take in the toll-road or Kingdom Trails in the off-season.

Cabot Cheese Visitors Center. Learn how one of Vermont’s most famous exports is made.

Highland Center for the Arts. One of many reasons to visit nearby Greensboro.

Hill Farmstead. For a number of years this brewery’s liquid gold has been named the world’s best. Experience it for yourself.

Groton State Forest. Hiking, lakes, ponds and beautiful scenery.

Joe’s Pond. The closest lake to Cherry House offers a public beach and boating. Also accessible from St. Johnsbury on bike or snow machine on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail.

Kingdom Trails. Widely regarded as one the top mountain biking, hiking and winter recreational trail systems in the U.S. More that 100 miles of trails, just 20 minutes from Cherry House.

Lake Willoughby. Spectacularly beautiful. And a well-kept secret. Enjoy hiking, boating, swimming and beaches—or just take in the scenery.

Montpelier. Vermont’s capital is a great destination for shopping, dining, cultural attractions, or visit the Vermont Statehouse.

Montshire Museum of Science. A hands-on children’s museum sure to please visitors of any age. An easy drive on I-91.

Rock of Ages. Explore the science and heritage of Vermont’s granite industry. Who knew a hole in the ground could be so interesting?

Bretton Woods Resort. New Hampshire’s largest winter resort features loads of family-friendly terrain and stunning views of Mt. Washington.

Cannon Mountain. New Hampshire’s classic ski area. Enjoy a tram ride to Cannon’s summit to take in the scenery in warmer months.

The Colonial Theater. See great entertainers in an intimate setting in the beautiful town of Bethlehem.

Franconia Notch State Park. Home to Cannon Mountain, biking and hiking trails, The Flume and some of the most rugged scenery in the Northeast.

Littleton. We’re just 20 minutes from shopping and dining in this charming New England town.

Mt. Washington and The Mt. Washington Cog Railway. Visit the legendary Mt. Washington Hotel (an inspiration for Stephen King’s “The Shinning”). Take a ride on the historic Cog Railway to the highest peak in the northeast U.S.
